Summer courses for children and teenagers

During our Summer German courses children and teenagers, aged from 6 to 17, learn German language directly through practice. As a result of facing alive language either in the course , the students begin to use the language and show prompt success. Furthermore, by cause of meeting other children and teenagers from all over the world, they develop international competencies. They connect through German language.

We consider the Summer program as successful when our young participants, after having finished the course, continue to master their German skills in their home countries with joy and motivation.

Deployment in the Summer German course for children and teenagers requires from our teachers grounded expertise as well as pedagogical and didactical competencies in working with students from 6 years old and teenagers. Due to very international groups with students from all over the world, with different language levels, a methodological flexibility is a necessity. The teachers must be eager to plan the program individually, without before given materials.

As a result of facing alive language either in the course and in our optional program ‘Activities in the city’, the students learn German language directly through practice. Therefore, we require form our teachers remarkable communication skills, ability to present the lessons content in a playful way, creativity.

Durch die unmittelbare Begegnung mit der gelebten deutschen Sprache im Sprachkurs und im anschließenden interaktiven Nachmittagsprogramm in der Stadt, erleben die Schüler die Sprache direkt in ihrer Praxis. Deshalb erwarten wir von unseren Lehrkräften ausgeprägte kommunikative Fähigkeiten, spielerischen Umgang mit den Lerninhalten, gestalterische Kreativität.

Formal requirements to teach in Summer German courses:

• At least Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in studies of German language

or

• At least Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in studies of other foreign language, additionally confirmation of teaching experience
• German as a second language at native language level
